Kulgam, June 05 (KNO): Police in Kulgam on Friday claimed to have recovered a kidnapped girl and arrested the kidnapper within 24 hours after receiving the complaint.
Police spokesman in a statement issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that Police Station DH Pora received a complaint that a girl has been kidnapped by one individual identified as Aabid Hussain Khan of Gudder Kulgam.
Accordingly, a case under FIR number 83/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered at PS DH Pora and investigation was initiated, he said, adding that a special team headed by Station House Officer (SHO) DH Pora while acting on the specific leads were able to recover the kidnapped girl and also arrested the kidnapper within 24 hours after complaint was received.
He has been shifted to PS DH Pora where he remains in custody, he said, adding that after fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs. “Investigation into the matter is in progress,” he said.
